How can I tell if I have buildup?

This one is indeed hard to self-diagnose, but buildup removal is crucial for both a healthy scalp and moisture retention so here are some things to look out for: a film on your strands and/or scalp, dullness, or some extra weight on your hair.

What are things that cause buildup?

Great question!  Your own day-to-day activities for starters.  For instance, you might notice an increase in sebum production after a great workout.  And if you’re a swimmer, chlorine poses an issue as well.  On top of that, you’ve got buildup from styling products and environmental particulates.  

It’s important to remove buildup from your scalp and hair on a regular basis to avoid dullness, dryness, breakage, and slowed growth. Our gentle Clarify Shampoo can get the job done with just one thorough wash.

I’m using Clarify, so why does my hair feel greasy?

Bear with us, but this is typically from either not shampooing enough, or shampooing too much! Failing to clarify your locks often enough will allow oil to build up. Conversely, over washing essentially trains the scalp to overproduce sebum in an attempt to recover. 

What if I have sensitive skin?

We’ve got you covered. Clarify’s ingredients are crazy gentle, more gentle than many baby shampoos in fact. We use large molecule surfactants which cannot penetrate the skin, reducing the likelihood of skin irritation. That said, always chat with your dermatologist if your skin has special needs.

If Clarify Shampoo is sulfate free, how does it clean?

Clarify Shampoo was formulated without sulfates, parabens, or phthalates.  Instead of harsh sulfates, we use a blend of highly effective, yet mild, surfactants for a gentle thorough cleanse.  

In fact, clinical testing has proven that Clarify removes product buildup, dirt, oil and other impurities in just one thorough wash while also being non-drying.

Will Clarify Shampoo strip my hair?

Not at all.  Clarify was designed to remove excessive sebum, environmental particulates, chlorine, silicones, and general product buildup without stripping your hair.  You might feel that your hair has been stripped but that is the feel of clean hair! It’s important to remember that clean hair should not feel “conditioned”.

No worries, Clarify was formulated to leave behind a stable amount of moisture. That’s important to us too. In fact, clinical testing has proven Clarify’s formulation to be non-drying. Be sure to follow up with your recommended FORM conditioner after each wash.

What is the Clarify Shampoo scent?

Clarify incorporates refreshing hints of patchouli, lavender, and vanilla that blend into a calm, uplifting fragrance.  As an added bonus, patchouli also has anti-inflammatory properties, which can help soothe dry, irritated scalp. Patchouli also helps to regulate sebum to prevent dandruff.
