Why do I need to use shampoo?
Environmental pollutants, sebum, and product buildup all need to be removed with shampoo. Cleanse solubilizes oils so that they can be gently removed from the hair shaft and scalp. Buildup can cause dull, flat, weighed down, hair. You might also notice dryness, stunted hair growth, and increased breakage.
What’s the difference between Clarify and Cleanse Shampoos? Why do I need both?
Occasional Clarifying is ideal to refresh your hair and scalp and provide a clean slate for optimal conditioning. Clarify will remove buildup from things like natural oils, environmental pollutants, styling products, silicones, and chlorine. Free of these, your waves and curls can get their bounce back as buildup is no longer weighing them down or blocking out the moisture so crucial to textured hair.
Clarify, however, should not be used for each wash as it removes your natural oils as well and, if over-clarifying, you will force your scalp to overproduce oil resulting in sebum buildup. Cleanse Shampoo will have you covered between your Clarify days as it gently removes buildup while maintaining the delicate moisture balance healthy hair thrives on.
Why does my hair feel greasy after using Cleanse?
This is typically from either not shampooing enough, or shampooing too much! Not washing the hair enough, allows oil build up. Conversely, over washing forces the scalp to try to recover by producing more oil than natural.
Can I prepoo before Cleanse?
Of course! If your hair is suffering from hygral fatigue, prepooing with an oil like Coconut Oil is just fine. The oil will penetrate your strands, reducing the amount of water that enters.
To truly correct the issue however, It’s important that you gain proper moisture and protein balance. If your hair is damaged or highly porous, you might follow up with our Revive Conditioner for a protein infusion.
Is Cleanse Shampoo sulfate free?
Indeed, that’s super important to us too. :) Instead of harsh sulfates, both Cleanse and Clarify are formulated with a blend of highly effective, yet mild, surfactants for a powerful gentle cleanse. Yes, that is a thing now!
Will Cleanse strip my hair?
Not 👏🏽 at👏🏽 all👏🏽! Cleanse Shampoo reduces oil content and pollution of the hair while leaving behind a stable amount of moisture, even with daily use. In fact, clinical testing has proven Cleanse to be non-drying.
That said, clean hair should not feel “conditioned”. A great shampoo properly cleanses, removing buildup. to properly prep your locks for conditioner. Hydrate or Revive should follow each wash for proper moisture balance.
